Submitions are a right and the only way we can keep kiting in Northland in the future.

There are several persistent people who would like to see kiting banned completely in NZ
because of their view that kiting is bad for the environment.  For this reason it is important for us
to band together and let the councils of this country know that we are responsible beach users who
respect our environment and fellow beach users.
Many avenues have been used to try to restrict and ban us to date, including the Navigational Safety
Bylaws,  The Wildlife Act of 1953 and the view that we prevent bird from roosting and breeding
wherever we may be.
It is our belief that we have no greater negative effect on the environment than any other beach user
and that most kiters are aware of their environment and would not purposefully harm any wildlife or
put any other water users in danger.  We need to try educate and inform those who would like to see
us banned that we are not the menace they believe we are.
So let us save Northlands flat-water kiting spots by being pro-active, positive and considerate.
